In the Philippines, 3M was established in 1964 becoming the 26th subsidiary. From its humble beginnings holding office in a room in Manila Hotel with 5 personnel, the Company has come a long way since then with over 200 employees nationwide at present. Now on its 48th year, 3M Philippines, Inc. holds office at the McKinley Hill, Fort Bonifacio. With over 10,000 products 3M Philippines serves important markets such as the industrial, automotive, electrical, telecommunications, health care, transportation, graphics, personal safety, electronics, commercial, consumer and office. Apart from its Luzon operations, 3M's distribution network expanded with the establishment of branches in Visayas and Mindanao in 1972. The Cebu branch handles business primarily in the City as well other parts of Visayas and Northern Mindanao. 3M Davao branch serves the important markets from Agusan down to Basilan. In 2003, 3M Philippines opened its technical facility - the 3M Innovation Center now called 3M Customer Technical Center. Located along South Super Highway, the Customer Technical Center has 10 rooms to showcase each of the company’s divisions and their products and technologies. Every now and then, the Center is open for Innovation Tours where customers, the media and some students are exposed to the many wonderful innovations that the company has created over the years. 3M Philippines also has manufacturing facilities located at the Golden Mile Business Park, Barangay Maduya, Carmona, Cavite. The 3M Carmona Plant manages the facilities for Abrasives and Scotch-Brite™ operations, compounding, Graphic Production Center, Print-Coat-&-Convert (PCC) & Tape Converting. In 2008, 3M Philippines established its Export Operations on tape and moisture & static bag converting operations as well as logistics known as 3M Philippines (Export), Inc. also in Carmona. As of 2011, the company holds the following certifications: ISO 9001:2008 (Quality), ISO 14001:2004 (Environmental) and OHSAS 18001:2007 (Occupational Health and Safety) Management System for both 3M Philippines, Inc. Carmona Plant and 3M Philippines (Export), Inc. 3M Philippines remains to be in the business of innovation, as it never stops inventing remaining passionate about making progress happen. |
